This past year has been a full and busy year at the Hall. Many events have continued from past years, including weekly Tai Chi and Qigong classes, monthly Community Breakfasts, movies, Open Mike Nights and Drumming Circle. A vibrant Summer Block Party and a Friendsgiving potluck are some of the newer events that brought in many community members. Many private events have also continued, providing revenue for the Hall.
The Rock River Players (RRP) have also continued to grow, presenting stage productions throughout the year at the Hall, providing opportunities for performers, stagehands and audience members to bring life and light to the Hall. There has been ongoing coordination between the RRP and the Hall Committee to ensure access to the Hall for community events and keep everything running smoothly. The RRP have been sensitive and responsive to any concerns. They have shared half of their revenue with the Hall and they have paid for improvements to the Hall, including the stage lighting.
The Hall Committee is continually working on building maintenance and improvements. Of note, participants in a recent wedding donated many hours renovating and repainting the Hall, making it look better than it has in years. Last winter, the pipes burst in two areas. Thankfully, this was caught in time to limit the damage primarily to the kitchen and front of the Hall. The clean-up included hours of volunteer work. Two propane heaters were added, one in the main Hall and one downstairs, and that has helped both stabilize and adjust the heat and stave off burst pipes. Many volunteer hours have been spent decluttering and reorganizing storage spaces as well. The next major capital expense in our planning will be painting the building.
The Williamsville Hall Committee encourages both private and organizational use of the building. The nominal fee includes all building facilities. The Hall is ADA-compliant and has a powerful WIFI connection. Use of the Hall is free for public events.
Thanks to the people of Newfane for the continued support of your Hall.
Respectfully submitted,
The Williamsville Hall Committee
